1920's German Staunton Pattern Collectors' Chess Pieces are modeled after chessmen popular in Germany during earlier part of the 20th century. (Reference pictures of the historical set courtesy www.chess-collection.de )
The pieces have wide bases and a well proportioned design making it an excellent choice for tournament or casual play.
The design although simple to look at, has interesting design inspirations from French Lardy Collection with features like rings on the chess pieces.
The pieces have a symmetric curvature of the shanks from King to the Pawn making them easy to hold and play with. Knights of this set are beautifully crafted with interesting handwork done on the eyes and head.
