Chair cane is cut from the hard, glossy skin of rattan. Please note: due to its glossy texture, it does not accept stain or paint well.
Rattan cane is used in weaving chair seats with hole-to-hole or over-the-rail weaving.
Cane materials have wide applications in reinforcing, binding, re-wrap, and re-cane old chairs, ottomans, sofas, and repairing antique wicker furniture.
Before use: to make it flexible and manageable put it in water and soak it for about 15-20 minutes.
