Tar is a cancer-causing chemical substance that is produced by burning tobacco. When tobacco smoke is inhaled, the tar can form a sticky layer inside the lungs that cause irritation and breathing problems.
Compatible with the Airpura T600 and T600 DLX air purifiers, this prefilter collects tars in the same way as a cigarette filter and removes them from the air stream.
The Airpura special tar-barrier has a 570 square inches of filtration area and a depth of 1 inch. This air purifier prefilter is useful in environments where tobacco smoke is an issue such as homes with smokers and areas with heavy amounts of second-hand smoke.
