With its lateral branches, this strong and bountiful plant yields an abundance of delicious fruit. At 40-45cm long, 5cm in diameter each, and weighing just under 450g, the green-hued ridged fruits are delectable when fully mature after 45 days from the flower set. Planting it in a deep container or over an arched trellis will create a stunning sight! An optional stage is its development into a fibrous mass, which can be used as a loofa or sponge for various purposes.

Sow in spring & summer. Pre-soak seeds in lukewarm water (30°C) for 24 hours. Sow 2cm deep. Germinates at 27-32°C in 7-14 days. Plant spacing 50cm apart. 80-90 days to maturity.
