Dating back to the 1800s, this German heirloom beetroot was first described by Vilmorin in 1885 as "an exceptionally early variety and undoubtedly the finest among the early kitchen-garden types." It reaches maturity in just 7-8 weeks, making it perfect for raised garden beds, planters, and pots. Whether sown as a quick crop between seasons or towards the end of summer for an autumn harvest, this beetroot guarantees a bountiful yield.
Sowing Instructions
Sow seeds direct or in punnets in winter/ cooler times in the tropics and anytime in milder climates. Space plants 10 cm apart in rows 20cms wide.
Harvest leaves after 35 days and after 60 days for the root.
