Benjamin Britten's solo Cello Suites, composed between 1964 and 1971, were written for and dedicated to Rostropovich. Inspired by Rostropovich's recording of the solo Bach Suites, Britten's were influenced a good deal by Russian themes -- evident particularly in the third suite.
This edition is arranged by Rostropovich, and published by Faber Music.
Difficulty: ASTA Grade 6
