With the release of the CCM Premier II senior goalie stick, CCM has improved their older Premier Pro considerably to suit the modern goalies needs, more than it already did.
For this year, CCM has changed the construction of the Premier composite stick significantly. The largest change to the stick is the use of Sigmatex Spread-Tow Technology through the shaft and paddle of the stick. This new weaved carbon fiber design helps to decrease weight as well as maintaining, and improving stiffness and durability. Also, due to the aesthetically pleasing look of the material, CCM has gone even further into weight savings by limiting the amount of the paint on the shaft and paddle.
One big improvement that all goalies will be happy about in the Premier 2 senior goalie stick is the improved consistency and durability of the shaft of the stick. By improving the shaft compaction of the shaft, CCM has ensured that the stick will have improved corner strength and therefore have less weak-points.
The Sticktak grip that the Premier Pro introduced has also been improved. CCM has changed the orientation of the raised grip, as well as shortening how far the grip went up the shaft to ensure that goalies can still make quick explosive poke checks.
The last essential technology that CCM has added to this stick is the Zeroflux technology that they have added to the composite. It is a lightweight structure that is added during construction that helps with vibration dampening, and maintains a more foam-core feel in a poppy composite stick.
