Peony 'Chief Black Hawk' is a mid-season bloomer of single to semi-double, velvety, dark-red blossoms; one of the darkest Itohs available! The 5" blossoms are held upright on sturdy 34" stems. This selection performs quite well further south than many, but the flowers will fade to a lighter magenta in full southern sun. Introduced only in 2008, 'Chief Black Hawk' remains highly sought after and difficult to find in stock. EXTREMELY LIMITED AVAILABILITY. (Anderson/Kornder, 2008).
