Cucumber - Suyo Long - 10 Seeds
Cucumis sativus
This particular type of cucumber, originating from northern China, is one of our most productive varieties providing sweet, mild fruit for up to two months. Grown up to 30cm in length, the ribbed, dark green fruit is one of our favourites for fresh eating. With approximately 8kg per plant yield, these parthenocarpic cucumbers (no pollinators required) are seedless and incredibly crisp. They grow best when given abundant soil moisture and rich soil, with some afternoon shade beneficial in the hottest summer weather. Growing up, a trellis is recommended to keep the fruit straight and save space, and frequent harvesting is necessary to maintain maximum productivity.
Sow in Spring (or after frost) and summer at 10mm deep and direct or raise seedlings. Emerge 4-10 days at 21-35°C. Space apart 40-50cm. Maturity in 65-70 days
