The DD Tarp 3x3 is an incredibly versatile tarp with 19 attachment points allowing it to be easily manipulated into many different types of shelter.
Measuring 3m x 3m, it is constructed with 190T polyester with a PU 3,000m waterproof coating, making it stormproof. A taped central seam adds to the tarp’s impermeability.
Key to the tarp’s versatility are four pegs and guy lines and the three attachment points running in a line down the centre of the tarp.
Suspended on a ridge line between two trees this item can be used as an A-Frame tarp or in a diamond shape in an easy-to-erect basic set-up.
Use it over a hammock or simply to hunker down in bad weather.
On the ground utilise it as a bivi shelter, a lean-to or as a tarp-tent. The possibilities are endless. For some options, you may need to use your imagination and utilise external aids such as sticks and branches.
Weighing less than 800g minus the pegs and guy lines and transported in a handy stuff sack the DD Tarp is the perfect option if you are camping light.
This actual tarp was used by ex-SAS member Chris Ryan in extreme monsoon conditions in the Amazon rainforest broadcast on the Discovery channel in 2011.
