A 10" colour drawing board, with a lock button and lanyard for stylus pen.
The electronic drawing board has been a great addition to our house. It’s easily transportable so we often take it in the car. The lanyard for the pen will help keep the stylus safe.
Include this in activities or leave it out with something to trace or a small picture and see if your child will “give it a go.” Your child might like to attempt numbers, letters, trace their name, draw a picture from their favourite book etc. The drawing board comes with a flat battery included.
Language activity - a game we like to play is “draw don’t say.” I describe something without saying what it is e.g. “it’s something you like to play with, it’s round and you can kick it” (a ball). Then your child can do the same for you – this is a great language activity. You can also extend this to support literacy – what’s the first sound you hear in ball? Draw the sound on the draw board. Talk about words that rhyme with ball, again draw them on the board and allow them to see the visual of rhyme. You can also clap the syllables in ball, draw numbers 1-3 on the board and ask your child to circle the correct answer.
Fine motor skills – direct practice holding the pencil and if possible using their pincer grip.
