Craig Duncan's Easy Solos for Beginning Violists was created as a supplement for other methods, providing fun, rewarding repertoire that violists can start playing nearly as soon as they pick up the instrument. The method is light on technique, containing some staccato, slurs, and suggested bowings. Repertoire is varied, including classical and folk, and part of the fun of this book is that students are likely to recognize a lot of the tunes.
