Doris Gazda's String Town Tunes provides beginning orchestras a fun collection of repertoire focused on promoting good technique and learning in students. Twelve pieces are included, mostly familiar folk and classical themes, but some original tunes as well. Songs progress in difficulty through the collection, and tend to emphasize technique. An accompaniment CD is included with each part, so that students can practice their part in an ensemble even on their own at home.
