This luffa plant also answers to many different aliases, including Chinese okra, si gua, silk gourd, lin jiao si gua, edible luffa, you lin si gua. It is known in some cultures as sze kwa or see kwa and goes by the name hechima or luffa gourd.
Sow in spring & summer. Pre-soak seeds in lukewarm water (30°C) for 24 hours. Sow 2cm deep. Germinates at 27-32°C in 7-14 days. Plant spacing 50cm apart. 80-90 days to maturity.
