Lux (illuminance) is the index of how much luminous flux should spread to a given area. 1 lux = 1 lumen per square meter. Think of this as intensity.
How to distinguish between Lumens and Lux?
In the case of equal lumen value:
Low Lux: If the bulb beam is wider, the light will be more diffuse as it is thought to illuminate a wider area.
High Lux: If the beam is narrower, the illuminated area is more concentrated, so the light will be more intense. Even though the lumens don't change, the lux increase due to the reduced beam area.
If you have an H7 bulb with high lumens but low relative lux, the wider the area illuminated, the more diffuse the light will appear.
Therefore, when choosing a high-quality H7 white bulb, we should pay attention to whether the beam mode can focus well, provide high lumens and high Lux output, and provide better visibility for night driving.
