DESCRIPTION
Fralin knows what you love about your P Bass®. That’s why they don’t take any of that away: they only give you more. They use USA-Made AlNiCo V magnets and 42-Gauge Heavy Formvar wire to give an era-authentic 50’s tone, only thicker. Fralin P Bass® Pickups offer a significant upgrade. At Fralin Pickups, they believe the best sound comes from the highest quality materials available.
Fralin P Bass® Pickups are like their J Bass® Replacements: they have a huge fat tone. Fralin P Bass® Pickups are fat, punchy, and round. The lows are deep and rich, and the highs are sweet and clear. The first thing you’ll notice when you install these pickups is how you can hear more of your P Bass®. You’ll hear an extended low-end and a rounder top-end. These pickups are very vintage sounding, but with modern power.

WHAT IS THE TONE OF THE LINDY FRALIN P BASS PICKUP?
Lindy Fralin has been making this P bass pickup for a lot of years….and he has the tone dialed in very well. The Fralin P has nice full warm lows, that are slightly ‘pillowy’ - in a pleasant way. The pickup has a medium to soft piano like attack. There is a bit of emphasis in the upper mid range…if you are looking to hear the difference between this pickup and the comparable Nordstrand NP4, that is where we hear it - the upper mid range is slightly more pronounced.
Put on a good set of headphones and check out the audio demo below to hear it for yourself.
As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.
