Passionfruit - Panama Gold- 10 seeds
Passiflora edulis ssp. flavicarpa
The 'Panama Gold' is an evergreen vine that produces large, yellow-skinned passionfruit with an aromatic pulp that is sweeter than black passionfruit. You can consume the fruit raw or use it in desserts, jams, and cordials. It is a good source of vitamins A and C. This type of plant doesn't require companion planting for fruit-set, although cross-pollination can result in a more abundant crop. Passionfruit plants have shallow and spreading roots, so providing regular mulching and watering is advisable. It thrives best in subtropical and tropical regions, and in temperate areas, it requires a warm sheltered place and may lose its foliage during winter. You can tip-prune it after harvesting, but in colder regions, waiting until spring is recommended.
