Pee Gee Hydrangea are full shrubs with large, white flower clusters that last through July and August. Each cluster is full of delicate blooms that give dimension especially as the white changes to a bright pink as the season goes on. These hydrangeas do not have the full droopy mop heads of many varieties, but instead carry smaller, but still significant clusters of flowers that provide a sense of elegance to your garden. These hydrangeas bloom on new wood, so they can be pruned back at any time during the year. We recommend right before new growth starts in the spring and often opt for a restorative technique only pruning back 1/3 of the existing growth.
