A passivated 316SS Washer bonded to a EPDM backing that is used to seal out air or water, to dampen noise and vibration, or to provide resistance on a nut to help keep the nut from backing off. Another benefit is of course their ability to softly and evenly distribute a fastener's load on to softer materials.

What is EPDM?
EPDM stands for ethylene propylene diene monomer which is a synthetic type of rubber that provides excellent resistance to environmental degradation when compared to natural rubbers. It is often used in commercial roofing, pond liners, water tank liners, and other applications where getting a good watertight seal and longevity are important attributes.
What is stainless steel passivation and how does it help keep our stainless marine fasteners corrosion free?
Stainless steel passivation is a chemical process that improves the corrosion resistance of our 316 stainless fasteners by removing any traces of iron from the surface of fastener. This chemical process enhances it's natural oxide layer, and helps keep any surface rust from forming for years to come.
