Bottle and Cup
This nesting combination is ideal for light packers.
The Pathfinder stainless steel bottle sits at 8 inches tall with a 32-fluid-ounce capacity. The cup stands at 4.5 inches tall with a 25-fluid-ounce capacity. Inside of the nesting cup contains millimeter measurement markings, allowing you to leave bulky measuring equipment at home.
The stainless steel nesting cup has a lid with straining holes and a handle for easy pouring and carrying. Attached to the cup are foldable batwing handles, so you can enjoy your morning coffee without burning your hands on the outside of the steel nesting cup.
You also don't have to worry about spillage when you're on the move: The stainless steel bottle comes with a sealable lid with a silicon "O" ring to ensure any liquid stays put while you're trekking through the great outdoors.
NOTE: Do not store hot liquids in the bottle, as doing so can cause the cap to sit/seal improperly. We have not tested any other bottle accessories on our 32oz Bottle other than the items we sell. If you buy our bottle to use with other manufacturers' accessories, we do not claim they are compatible.
Bottle Stove
The Pathfinder Stainless Steel Bottle Stove is 3.25 inches tall and 3.75 inches wide. The stove can paired with various other pieces of cooking gear, however, it was designed specifically for use with the Pathfinder 32oz Bottle and 25oz Cup. The Bottle nests perfectly inside the cup and the stove nests under the cup, providing an easy to carry compact cooking system.
When cooking, the Pathfinder bottle stove is safe to sit atop a traditional fire. Just make sure you apply caution when cooking with the bottle stove: Stoke small flames rather than creating a large fire that makes it difficult for you to access your cooking gear. Use heat-resistant gloves, a potholder, pot grabbers, or allow your gear to cool before handling.
Bottle Hanger
The Pathfinder bottle hanger is made of 100% manganese spring steel, is rust resistant, and will maintain elasticity. This bottle hanger means you can hover your bottle.
Utensil Set
The Pathfinder utensil set comes with a rust-resistant stainless steel fork, knife, and spoon, all connected via a handy carabiner to avoid losing pieces of your kit.
Ferrocerium Rod
The HD6 6" ferrocerium rod allows you to create a flame in seconds with approximately a 5,400°F spark, so you can conquer the elements and create a fire in any weather condition.
Bottle Bag GEN3
The Pathfinder GEN3 bottle bag is made of heavy-duty nylon, so it's sure to last for years. This sturdy bag comes in Coyote Tan and Earth Brown. and has a large pocket on the outside for extra storage.
In addition to a handy shoulder strap, the Pathfinder bottle bag has space for a few more items so that you can carry other cooking accessories in the bag on your next outdoor adventure.
How to Set Up Your Pathfinder Stainless Steel Bottle Cooking Kit
Our sleek design is easy-to-use. Follow these steps!
-
Step 1: Make a small fire: Always, clear an area of leaves and debris and surround your fire with large rocks (if possible). Be sure to monitor your fire to avoid unexpected spreading.
-
Step 2: Ignition is simple when using Pathfinder Mini Infernos and your HD6 Ferro Rod. Simply tear a disc, then shower it with sparks from your ferro rod. Once ignited, add small sticks and twigs.
-
Step 3: Place the stove above the fire or coals.
-
Step 4: Place the bottle or cup on the stove or hang with the bottle hanger above the fire.
-
Step 5: Your 25oz cup is ideal for soups, rice and other single serving meals.
How to Properly Clean Your Stainless Steel Water Bottle Cooking Kit
Though you can apply different techniques when cleaning a stainless steel product, you may not have access to various cleaning options while out in nature. Check out the in-depth cleaning tutorial by Matt Mercer of the Pathfinder School for those attempting to scrub their stainless steel bottle cooking kit in the wild.
DO NOT use bleach or cleaners that contain chlorine or chloride. These types of cleaners will stain and damage stainless steel. Do not let dirty water or cleaning solutions dry on your stainless steel; it can create a dull finish and potentially leave permanent stains. Some tap water can be harsh and leave spots or stains. Using these types of cleaning products will impact any implied product warranty.
Why You Might Need a Cooking Kit
A solid cooking kit includes many of the same essentials as your kitchen. Though it may sound difficult to make a meal without kitchen appliances to a novice, experts know that cooking outdoors with small kits is simple and easy – as long as you have the proper tools you can use in any situation. Here are some of the reasons why a cooking kit will come in handy.
Off-the-Grid Camping
Though you may be tempted to fuel your adventures with no-cooking-required snacks, you'll likely find yourself running on empty during your excursion. That’s why a solid, compact cooking kit is essential for those attempting a completely off-the-grid camping trip. With the Pathfinder bottle cooking kit, you can cook warm, nutritious meals with little effort.
Backpacking
When backpacking, you have to keep your pack as light as possible to ensure you can cross rugged terrain for days without exhausting yourself. But traditional camping cookware, like cast irons or camping stoves, can be heavy and bulky, which isn't ideal for backpackers going for days on end. With the Pathfinder cooking kit tucked away in its compact bottle bag, you can freeze-dry, rehydrate, and warm up your food, reducing unnecessary weight.
Emergencies
You can use the Pathfinder bottle cooking kit during emergencies, like for decontaminating water. Seasoned bushcrafters know that water is one of the most important things you need to establish when you're out on the field – and with this kit, you can be sure you'll stay hydrated.
Want to up your comfort? You can also pair the Pathfinder bottle cooking kit with the Pathfinder canteen cooking set, which has a wide-mouth style that allows you to obtain water from shallow pools.
