If the name doesn't get you, the results will! Tasty Wine tomatoes are an almost-burgundy-red dwarf tomato variety brought to us by the Open Source Seed Initiative and the Dwarf Tomato Project. Combining traditional tomato varieties to create sturdy plants with a thick central stem and a determinate growth habit, amateur plant breeders went in a quest for fabulous colour and flavour. They found it, and Tasty Wine is one of the results of this initiative. Is it tasty? Experts agree that these beefsteak-type, mid-sized tomatoes are as yummy as anyone could wish.
