FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What material are your sculptures made out of?

A: All of our sculptures are made from 100% hot cast bronze, and handmade in the ancient lost wax casting method. We never sell cheap cold cast sculptures or resins!

Q: What is the difference between hot cast and cold cast bronzes?

A: Hot cast bronze is created by pouring a molten metal mixture into a mold.  Before the metal can be poured, our artists must first create the mold on a medium such as clay, rubber, or wood.  Each mold allows for a limited number of pours, and therefore a limited amount of sculptures can be created in any given round of production before the mold is destroyed and the artist must create a new mold.

Cold cast is actually made from resins and plastics which are painted over. They are cheaper, lighter, and less durable.

Generally speaking, hot cast bronzes are very time consuming and limited in their production, whereas cold cast resins can be mass produced and are inexpensive to create.

Q: I changed my mind or don't like the way the piece looks in person, what can I do?

A: We accept returns within 30 days of your receipt of the sculpture.  Please refer to our return policy for details.

Q: Do you do custom work?

A: Custom work is available in some cases.  Please contact us with the details of the job.

Q: Can I sell you one of my own pieces?

A: Unfortunately, we do not buy pieces from the public.  To ensure the highest quality, we only sell brand new pieces that we commission ourselves, or buy directly from artists and manufacturers we know and trust.

Q: Are your works original or reproductions?

A: We sell a large variety of sculptures, both original and reproductions.  Many of our pieces are works that were imagined and created by the artists we commission, while many recognizable classic pieces are reproductions that our artists have painstakingly recreated by hand.  Both reproductions and originals are ALWAYS sculpted and hand poured in the same fashion ensuring each piece is slightly unique.

Q: My sculpture arrived damaged, does not look true to the photo, or I was sent the wrong piece - what should I do?

A: In any of the above cases, we will correct the situation at no additional cost to you! We would be happy to refund or replace any problematic orders.  Please contact us with the details of your issue and we will organize an RMA for you.  Refer to our return policy for more details.

Q: Will you match the price of other sellers?

A: Yes! If you see any of our pieces anywhere else for cheaper, please contact us and we will do our best to match or beat the price!

Q: How much does shipping cost?

A: Shipping price varies depending on weight and dimensions of the sculpture.  Because we are sending quite heavy and fragile pieces of art, we have a very strict and careful shipping process where we use combinations of individualized Styrofoam molds unique to the sculpture, Styrofoam peanuts, and sometimes double boxing larger pieces.  Please understand that this contributes to the weight and dimensions of the shipment.  Shipping prices for any piece or pieces can be viewed by adding the products to the cart and entering your zip code in the shopping cart page.

Q: What is that rattling sound inside some sculptures?

A: Please do not be alarmed if you hear a rattling sound inside of some sculptures.  That sound is sand which sometimes becomes trapped inside of the sculpture during the casting process.  This is common and is a testament to the handmade lost wax casting process and does NOT represent a defect.
