Bunka is an independent lifestyle store in south London on a mission to bring you the very best in design-led fashion, homewares and gifts for women, men, babies and kids.
The friendly team adds new and exciting ranges all the time, from both established brands and small, innovative designers from across the globe. Womenswear, menswear and accessories, toys, candles, ceramics, cards and jewellery… we’re passionate about offering lovely things not available on the high street.
Our founder, Ayshin - the daughter of a couture tailor - opened our very first store in Forest Hill in 2003. Her fashion background, graphics degree and fascination with all things design led her to choose the name ‘Bunka’, meaning ‘culture’ in Japanese.
Her team’s talent for discovering great quality, stylish, fun and unique products proved a hit. A second store, in Beckenham opened in 2017, followed soon after by our website; and in 2021 we threw open the doors to a third store, in The Glades shopping mall in Bromley.
