WHO ARE WE?

Tabassum pays homage to the centuries old ethnic fashion of the Mughals and sub-continent by weaving it with contemporary influences to make it more relatable to the modern woman who wants to embrace the traditional on her own terms. At Tabassum we try to celebrate our desi design philosophy, by mixing it with contemporary influences to make it fun, relatable to the modern woman and a joy to wear.

MADE IN PAKISTAN
Our brand is 100% Pakistani in DNA, conceived and manufactured in Lahore. With Tabassum, our goal has always been to empower the local karigars and artisans. Our supervisors work closely with our karigars, helping them in honing their craft and teaching them new and innovative fashion skills that can help them throughout their career. With over 50% of our workforce entailing females, team Tabassum takes great pride in empowering women as well.

REVIVING HERTIAGE FASHION
At Tabassum, we help preserve and highlight the forgotten arts and crafts that have laid the ground-work of what Pakistani fashion is today! We have helped revive the neglected art of hand-made chatta-patti in high-street fashion, as it becomes more desolate against more mass-produced goods. A lot of our formal pishwas, angrakhas and anarkalis feature this painstaking textile so our customers can appreciate the karigari of hand-made goods.

Not only that, Tabassum has played a massive part in reviving the art of traditional potli making. Tabassum was one of the first ever brands that helped revitalize the traditional bag that had been long dormant in the mainstream fashion. With our efforts, Tabassum has been able to popularize potli bags across Pakistan and with the South Asian community.

GREEN INITIATIVE
Fashion industry is one of the main sources of pollution across the globe. Our green initiative was launched with the intention of reducing our carbon footprint. With our potli bags, we have not only been able to revive the art of traditional bag making, but also play a part in being environmentally friendly by allowing us to Recycle, Reuse and Restyle our fabric waste and reduce our carbon footprint.

We have been able to employ a vast majority of our fabric wastage into potli bags through clever use of chatta-patti and patching techniques and will continue to play our part in preserving the planet.
