Satin Shoelace Care Instructions

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR SATIN SHOELACES

  1. Brush away any loose dirt or debris. Using a soft bristled toothbrush, gently brush off any excess dirt from the laces. Try to only use a soft toothbrush as you don’t want to damage the material. Once you have removed the loose dirt with your toothbrush, clean your toothbrush before the next step.

  2. Create a gentle cleaning solution. Mix a solution of 2 parts cold water to 1 part detergent/bleach. If you want a gentler solution, you can increase the ratio of water to detergent, depending on the amount of stain on the laces. However, the lowest ratio we recommend is 2 parts water to 1 part detergent as you want to protect the satin from being damaged from the soap.

  3. Gently brush the dirt using the solution. Using the same soft toothbrush (after you cleaned it), mix it into the solution that you created. Gently brush the dirt marks away using gentle motions. Try not to rub the dirt further into the lace as that would create a bigger stain. Repeat the step. It may take a couple of tries to properly get rid of the dirt from your laces.

  4. Dry the laces overnight. Once you’ve cleaned your laces, immediately dry them with a dry towel. Leave your laces overnight to dry. Make sure they're completely dry before using them for your shoes.
