Environmental Policy

Here at Zimpli Kids, as manufacturers of unique children's products, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact in all aspects of our company. All employees have a responsibility to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met

• At the beginning of 2019, Zimpli Kids switched all retail and CDU boxes to recycled board to reduce our environmental impact. Although there is an exceptionally nominal reduction in the quality of our boxes and displays, we believe that the overall benefit of having Eco-friendly packaging outweighs this.

• Our UK factory is ISO 14001 accredited. This is the coveted environmental certification awarded to companies who prove they minimise how their operations negatively affect the environment and comply with all applicable laws in regards to effective environmental management and sustainability.
• In 2018, Zimpli Kids joined the On Pack Recycling Label Scheme (OPRL) meaning all our boxes have consistent on pack guidance to make it clear to our customers how our packaging can be recycled.

• We implement a waste management system to effectively manage and reduce waste in all aspects of our business. This includes dedicated recycling and general waste bins and a baling machine in the ware- house to efficiently store, compact and bundle the waste we generate. We also sell excess bulk bags used to hold powder to ensure they are re-used and/or recycled. We do all this and more to minimise the waste sent to landfill.

• We provide ongoing training to ensure that all employees are familiar with the waste disposal processes.

Zimpli Kids are committed members of the British Toy and Hobby Association (BTHA). We take pride in adhering to the BTHA Code of practice covering ethical and safe manufacture of toys, toy safety and a commitment to improving sustainability.

• For all our products that include Glitter, we use a cosmetic 'Bio Glitter' made from special biodegradable film that degrades in sea water in accordance with the standard ASTM D7081-05.

• We ensure that the suppliers we work with are environmentally responsible.

• To reduce our environmental impact further, we are currently in the process of switching from polybags to paper bags for all figures included in our products.

• We avoid the use of hazardous materials.

• We minimise the use of water, energy and natural resources where possible.

This Environmental Policy Statement is reviewed on a regular basis and updated as necessary. At Zimpli Kids, everyone in our team is fully committed to the implementation of the statements written above.
