NAME: Derick Carver

BIO
Born in Millington, TN and raised in SoCal, Derick enlisted in 2005, commissioned 2007. After losing his leg while in Afghanistan (2010) while serving with the 82nd Airborne Division, he would recover at Walter Reed before medically retiring out of 4th RTB at Fort Benning.
He is currently the World’s and U.S. Strongest Man- Adaptive Division/seated, and 4th in U.S. in the standing division. He is also a top adaptive crossfitter, always up for new sport or competition. Derick is one of the Co-founders for Team Some Assembly Required (SAR). Team SAR is a 501C3 Non-Profit Organization, veteran founded and operated project, comprised of adaptive athletes and their supporters dedicated to the growth and expansion of competitive adaptive sports across multiple disciplines.
His introduction to SOFlete came through their programming. He uses it for Stamina and Functional Strength complimented with lifting heavy objects. When not in the gym training, he’s napping, looking at food pictures on Instagram, or talking shit. #ZeroIsMyFavoriteNumber
