Flying Solo Gear Company believes you should have full faith in your gear. If you're unsatisfied with your product for whatever reason, you can return your product within 30 days of purchase.
Warranty
We guarantee our products to be defect free. If you receive your FLYING SOLO GEAR CO product and there’s a problem, please contact us and we’ll assist you as soon as we receive your inquiry.
We cover all Flying Solo Gear Company products for 12 months from date of purchase. If you have purchased your items from our website, we will have your purchase details on file for easy reference. If you have purchased from one of our retailers, we'll ask for a receipt that shows your date of purchase.
Since launching our online store in 2016, we've developed a reputation among our retailers and customers for our durability. We are a microbusiness, meaning Flying Solo Gear Co is run by one person, and not a corporation. We say 'we' because it sounds less lonely than saying 'I'.
Our gear is tough as, but we can't prevent all the faults in the world - some things just happen, in which case we'll try to make it right.
Please note that we cannot cover any damage caused as a result of being in an accident or if the gear was being used in an unreasonable way.
We reserve the right to not accept warranty claims if we believe the claim to be fraudulent. We may also refuse to supply future orders if this is the case.
We also will not replace any gear damaged or lost by theft or vandalism.

Why do bags break?
Our warranty protects you against defects in the materials and craftsmanship in our products. If your product is defective, we'll replace it (at our discretion).
The vast majority of our products leave HQ and go on to see some amazing sights all across the world. Defects are very uncommon, but they do happen.
We are happy to report that we have a lower-than-average warranty rate of about 2% of all items sold. This is attributed to both the durability of our products, and that the majority of consumers care for their FSGC products. It's not uncommon to see our products going strong years down the track!
The zippers are usually the most vulnerable part of a bag. We use the highest quality YKK zippers, and they are often waterproof. A lot of technology and quality goes into our zippers, but that doesn't mean they're completely invincible.
Zippers are usually the most used part of the bag and is under high amounts of stress (just like when we accidentally overshoot a corner).
Over-stuffing a bag, pulling the zipper away from its tracks, forcing a zipper, or general mistreatment will cause a zipper to fail. If you use your bag as your daily commuter and treat it well, you can expect a minimum of 3 years without issue.
We also use high quality threads in all the seams of our sewn products. However, the materials in the threads can break down faster if the bag is left in the sun for extended periods of time.
Our fully waterproof products are joined with laser heat and not with threads. This plastic material will last longer when it is also kept indoors away from sunlight. Clean your item by hosing it down then wiping away dirt with a cloth. Make sure the straps are fully dry before storage.
With all this in mind, it is not considered a defect if any part of the bags break due to aggressive use, normal wear and tear, natural breakdown of materials and colours, and accidents.
This means that if you receive your bag and it tears after a few uses, we'll happily replace the bag. However, if you've used your bag for years and it finally breaks, we will not be able to replace the bag.
Damaged Items during Shipping
If your product was damaged or faulty to an unusable extent as a result of shipment, or the product breaks as a result of material failure (such as broken buckle, snapped zipper, unraveled stitching, etc), we will send over a new one free of charge upon return of the faulty item within the first 90 days.
Please contact us to arrange for a return and we'll send out a new item.
You must contact us before attempting to return an item due to shipping damage.
If the item was damaged by you when opening the package, we will not be able to replace the item.
Incorrect Item Received
If we send out the wrong item to you, as stated on your proof of purchase, we will pay for return shipping and will send the correct product to you free of charge. The first item must be sent back to our office before this can happen.
Change of mind returns or Size Exchanges.
If you change your mind on an item purchased online, you can receive a full refund. Products must be returned in original condition including tags, with proof of purchase, within 30 days of the purchase date.
You can email us to arrange for the item to be returned by post. We do not cover the cost of delivery for change-of-mind returns or size exchanges. Return postage must be paid for by you.
We will provide a refund on online orders in the same form as your original payment. We will notify you by email once we have processed your refund.
Note that clearance items cannot be refunded.
Damage caused by actions other than intended use
FSGC does not accept returns or exchanges if the product was damaged by actions other than intended use.
Intended uses include but are not limited to:
- Low-intensity traveling such as day trips, hiking, airplane trips, walking tours, etc.
- Dry activities such as motorcycle riding, cycling, snowboarding, skiing, and other similar ground-based sports.
- Acceptable uses include paddling kayaks, canoes, fishing, and other near-water activities.
Unintended uses include but are not limited to:
- In air- or water-based activities such as skydiving, bungee, scuba, snorkling, surfing, or wind surfing.
- Activities such as parkour, free-running, or distance running
- In any way as body armour, second skin, or any type of protective gear for your body. The only protective equipment we sell is our CE Level 2 Back Protector. Although it may reduce the likelihood of injury, we do not promise that this armour will protect you from serious injury or death.
- Decorative pins or other piercings in the product will render the warranty void.
Sale and Promotion Policy
FSGC occasionally holds sales and promotions to push certain product lines from time to time. If you've purchased something and it goes on sale within the next 14 calendar days, you're entitled to a credit in the form of a gift card.
The product you purchased must be identical to the product on sale (same style/model, size, colour, etc).
You'll have to email us with your order number and note the item(s) that have been discounted in a recent sale.
We'll then cross-check and assign a digital gift card to be sent to your email address.
You can then use this gift card on your next purchase by applying the code at checkout.
