Manufacturing Excellence and Ethical Values
Chelsea Reece was founded by a woman who decided to believe in her dream and entered a community college entrepreneurship program with an idea for a twirling dress. When that idea took off, She provided meaningful employment for women who had lost their place on the corporate ladder due to child birth. When you shop with us, you support women's dreams, ambitions, and healthy work-life balance for women in leadership positions.
At Chelsea Reece, we take pride in our commitment to ethical manufacturing, transparency, and a diverse and women-led team. Our values are not just words but are deeply rooted in every aspect of our business. We believe in creating a sustainable, inclusive, and fair fashion industry.
Our Story
We are a small, women-owned business based in the state of Utah, proudly operated by women. Our all-female team in the United States is dedicated to bringing you high-quality, ethically produced clothing that reflects our values.
Manufacturing in ShenZhen, BSCI Certified
Our manufacturing takes place in ShenZhen, China, at a BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certified factory. This certification ensures that our production adheres to the highest ethical and social compliance standards. We are committed to supporting fair pay and workers' rights.
Prioritizing Ethical Manufacturing
We stand firmly against forced labor and exploitative practices. It's our mission to offer you fashion that not only makes you look good but also feel good about your choices. We are proud to share with you the key principles that guide our manufacturing:
-
No Discrimination: We believe in equality and do not tolerate discrimination in any form.
-
Fair Remuneration: Our workers are paid fairly for their skills and dedication. All employees and partners are paid a fair wage that meets the standard of living in their area.
-
Decent Working Hours: We ensure that our employees have reasonable working hours and a healthy work-life balance.
-
Occupational Health and Safety: The safety and well-being of our workforce are paramount.
-
No Child Labor: We do not employ underage workers, and we follow strict child labor regulations. We are also committed to minor safety in our communications, marketing, and retail.
- No Forced our Bonded Labor: We as a company denounce forced labor. From our manufacturing line to the fabric we source, we are constantly investigating to ensure our production cycle doesn't cross paths with forced labor manufacturers. We partner with manufacturers who provide ethical pay for their workers and we refuse any products made by forced hands.
- Protection of the Environment: We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and offsetting our environmental footprint.
-
Ethical Business Behavior: We conduct business with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Our Manufacturer
We are proud to partner with a manufacturer that shares our values. They are BSCI certified, emphasizing responsible and ethical production practices. Our partner manufacturer, headquartered in Shenzhen, China, is known for working with some of the world's leading fashion brands for over 20 years, and provides top quality products with responsible production.
They have turned social responsibility into a corporate culture, strictly adhering to the highest international social compliance standards. This includes respecting workers' rights, ensuring occupational health and safety, and minimizing environmental pollution.
All of our prints are designed in-house, and we carefully and ethically source fabrics from different regions of China. By doing so, we aim to promote not only ethical manufacturing but also the rich cultural diversity found in the heart of our manufacturing hub.
We have recently began a supply chain relationship with a sourcing company local to Orem, Utah. Our relationship with this company will help us to expand our manufacturing team while investigating and auditing their quality and safety. This part of business is non-negotiable to us. We believe in quality work, quality workplace.
Sustainability
While we are not 100% sustainable due to the use of polyester, we are actively seeking ways to evolve and become more environmentally friendly. We encourage our customers to research different fabrications and their environmental impacts. Your support empowers us to make positive changes in the industry and work towards more sustainable practices.
We have established a relationship with an animal rescue that we will announce a reoccurring donation to as to help offset the impact the fashion industry has on our oceans.
Waste
Our commitment to sustainability also means reduction of waste. We turn our scraps into hair bows, pet collars, and an assortment of other accessories. Waste is an unavoidable side effect of doing business. We seek to reduce our waste through creation of other products with our waste scraps.
Size and Cultural Diversity
Just as we prioritize ethical manufacturing, we also value size and cultural diversity. Our clothing is designed to fit a wide range of body shapes and sizes, and we embrace cultural perspectives from our diverse team and devoted fan base. From our very first day we offered a size 0-26 and shortly expanded to 28 after. We have been size inclusive since day one, and we are committed to continuous inclusion and designing for diverse bodies.
At Chelsea Reece, we believe in fashion that goes beyond aesthetics, combining style with values that matter. Your support not only makes you a part of our journey but also contributes to a more sustainable, fair, and inclusive fashion industry.
Thank you for being a part of our mission.
