In a multimillion-dollar sale finalized on Thursday, Mark Cuban purchased startup NewBeeDrone to add to his vast portfolio of businesses. The 63-year-old billionaire, who has managed to retain a youthful air despite years of hard work, has been expanding his range of investments to include all kinds of small businesses. “These past couple years have really shown us that we need to start supporting our local businesses: our friends, our neighbors, our communities… Trust me it will pay off in the end, when we no longer have to depend on one company (Amazon) for everything.”
NewBeeDrone was reluctant to sell at first. The small company is still in its nascent stages, and in the last few years has demonstrated that it is extremely capable of competing with others in the industry. Since NBD has shown such potential, it is no wonder Cuban had been eyeing it so closely. He noted tremendous promise in the startup, predicting a five-time increase in monthly sales by end of year. As he is one of the most highly respected businessmen in the world, there is little doubt that Cuban may be onto something huge. “I got a good feeling about this,” Cuban told Fortune Magazine, “I can’t wait to get elbows-deep in the business.”
