Gay Held
Inspired by surroundings in the natural world, the vastness of the Midwest prairie or the expanse of an island out in the ocean, Gay's art is an expression in both literal and abstract terms. The horizon line is always apparent in her work, representing a place of rest and the notion of the beginning of infinity. As a third-generation seasonal resident of Nantucket, Gay has been creating art her entire life, having received a degree in printmaking and drawing in college. Gay has been represented by Nantucket Looms for over two decades and her work can be seen in various artistic outlets in Chicago.
