Product Designer – Motorcycle Luggage & Packs


The Product Designer role will help craft the evolution of motorcycle soft luggage, backpacks, and accessories for Mosko Moto. The successful candidate will provide design direction for the creation of new products, refine existing styles, and help define the future design philosophy and aesthetic for the brand.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Head of Design, this role is expected to provide creative leadership, insight, and inspiration to the design and development team for luggage, bags, and accessories.
  • Collaborate with the Product, Marketing, and Sales teams, and lead multiple design projects from conceptualization to finished product.
  • Responsible for achieving a deep understanding of Mosko’s customers.
  • Expected to self-manage one’s own creative process, understand and translate design briefs, and incorporate Mosko’s brand design language within the seasonal development calendar.
  • Create and manage the timely execution of tech/design packages ensuring all details are accurate and collaborate with the development team to design products within specific pricing goals.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently communicate ideation and broad concept exploration through visual processes, like hand sketching, product illustrations, and photo editing.
  • Create tech pack illustrations and technical drawings for new design concepts using Illustrator, detailing concepts, materials, and development specifications based on Mosko design language.
  • Collaborate with design team on seasonal material selection, trim development, and seasonal palette.
  • Reflect Mosko’s design principles in the creation and execution of product design and contribute creative ideas that express the Mosko culture.
  • Present finalized products to business teams in preparation for product launches.
  • Lead presentations with strong verbal and visual execution, while clearly communicating design vision.
  • Travel with the design and development team to factories in Asia, select tradeshows, and significant material sourcing shows.
  • Work across the organization to support successful cross-functional partnerships and ensure all sales and marketing communication is factually accurate and reflects product inspiration.
  • Focus on gross margin targets at the design stage and through the development cycle.
  • Find ways to speed up the design-to-development process to get products to market faster using new technologies and 3D printing where possible.
  • Field testing products to advance designs.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years pack and bag design experience required.
  • Motorcycle riding experience, or willingness to learn, required.
  • Experience in material and color design preferred.


Competencies

  • Expert ability to create technical equipment bag and pack drawings and demonstrate knowledge of current ADV motorcycle trends and the ability to interpret trends. (High proficiency)
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office products. (High proficiency)
  • Advanced understanding of design, construction techniques, and appropriate use of materials, including extensive knowledge and full understanding of product design and development techniques including cut & sew, welding, materials, color, etc. (High proficiency)
  • Expert level knowledge of interdependencies between design and development, and the ability to drive collaboration between the groups. (High proficiency)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Excels in small team setting and is adept at producing top-level results with small-company resources.
  • Advanced story-telling skills with the ability to create compelling design stories and themes.
  • Ability to travel overseas. (Asia, Europe, etc.).

This full-time in-house role is based at Mosko HQ in White Salmon, Washington. Some US and international travel may be required, with occasional trips up to two weeks at a time. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US. Relocation assistance can be provided to the Columbia River Gorge area.

Inventory and FP&A Analyst


Reporting to the CFO/General Manager, the Inventory and FP&A Analyst will drive business efficiency through data gathering, quantitative analysis, and special projects. The successful candidate will be a numbers person, highly skilled in Excel, but who is also able to understand the overarching business objectives. Additionally, as a member of a small team, this role will be expected to contribute in a variety of ways within Operations, Finance, and Accounting.

 

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Supply Chain
  • Ensure that Accounting has timely access to accurate inventory costing, shipping, duty & tax, and other operating expense data.
  • Gather inventory and shipment data for duty drawbacks.
  • Own inventory valuation on the balance sheet.
  • Analyze and rationalize working capital allocation, especially to inventory: finished goods, WIP, raw materials, and vendor deposits.
  • Understand inventory turns by product class.
  • Identify aging inventory worth liquidating or writing off.
  • Assist Supply Chain Manager with the monthly inventory demand forecasting.
  • Assist Supply Chain Manager with the maintenance of Items and SKU’s in ERP system:
    • Develop and enforce logical methodology for SKU syntax.
    • Assign SKU’s to new products, and load them into ERP system (NetSuite).
    • Maintain mappings of assemblies to components (sourced via contract manufacturing).
    • Maintain mappings of kits and their components.
    • Deactivate old SKU’s.
Sales Order Data Management
  • Assist Operations Manager with the configuration of technology infrastructure involved in Sales Order processing and fulfillment.
FP&A
  • Assist CFO with quarterly and annual budgeting cycles, populating existing budget templates with updated financial data from GL.
  • Develop and run monthly reports and maintain KPI’s on data like sales discounts, product category-level revenue and gross margin, performance by geographic location, etc.
  • Investigate variances to forecast, and offer suggestions for process and strategy improvement.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and research to evaluate opportunities for cost reduction, and to support business initiatives.
  • Assemble presentations and dashboards to communicate performance.
  • Assist CMO and CFO with product pricing strategy, helping ensure gross margin objectives are met.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Motorcycle riding experience, or willingness to learn, strongly preferred

Required Competencies

  • Microsoft Excel: Expert-level knowledge required (VBA a plus)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Access experience preferred
  • ERP/NetSuite experience a bonus
  • Familiarity with GAAP concepts and basic financial statements required

Marketing Manager


Do you have experience delivering product marketing campaigns? Do you love to ride adventure motorcycles, dual sports, or dirt bikes off-road? 

Mosko Moto is seeking a full-time Marketing Manager at our HQ in White Salmon, Washington.


Required Experience

Applicants need at least five years of current brand marketing experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving a deep understanding of Mosko’s customers.
  • With strategic direction from the Director of Sales & Marketing, take a leading role in the planning and implementation of go-to-market product campaigns across Mosko’s channels: website, social, email, media and brand partners, ambassadors, rider groups, forums, and events.
  • Help grow awareness, consideration, and sales of flagship and new products.
  • Develop seasonal content strategy and produce in-the-field video / photo shoots.
  • Manage in-studio product photoshoots for website PDPs and advertising use.
  • Manage Shopify website content updates and work with web designer/developer on feature updates.
  • Work with the Events Team to build awareness of Mosko’s in-person events and drive attendee signups.
  • Seek creative opportunities to collaborate with ambassadors, staff, media, and brand partners
    to create unique rider experiences.
  • Expected to contribute ideas to marketing strategy.
  • Required to learn Mosko’s product line, features, and benefits.
  • Manage marketing deliverables calendar.
  • Coordinate with marketing and staff to capture shareable moments at HQ, team rides, and events.

 

Required Skills

  • Ability to ideate and execute cohesive marketing campaigns integrating video, photography, graphics, and text in English across multiple platforms.
  • Capable of understanding detailed, technical product information and translating it into digestible / educational / entertaining marketing assets. 
  • Ability to contribute new and creative ideas that express the Mosko culture.
  • Ability to create content and / or direct creative partners in the field and in-studio.
  • Able to make basic updates to graphic files created by graphic designers in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Strong work ethic and project management skills to proactively deliver on projects as planned.
  • Up for riding motorcycles off-road and camping in remote locations.
  • Ability to communicate creatively in English in written and verbal forms in a professional manner.

  • Able to manage layered timelines and multiple deliverables in a calm yet effective manner under pressure.

Social Media Content Specialist

 

Are you a creative short-form storyteller who can build engaging, fast-paced content for social platforms? Do you love to ride adventure motorcycles, dual sports, or dirt bikes off-road? 

Mosko Moto is seeking a full-time Social Media Content Specialist to join the Marketing Team at our HQ in White Salmon, Washington.

 

Required Experience

Proven and referenceable experience successfully creating and managing social content for a brand, or have developed a notable personal account. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with our in-house marketing staff to plan and implement product campaigns across social platforms (primarily Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok.) 
  • Build awareness and drive attendee signups to Mosko’s in-person events via social.
  • Collate and respectfully share content from ambassadors, staff, media, and creative partners. 
  • Capture and post shareable moments at Mosko HQ e.g. ambassador visits, product testing, design project milestones.
  • Help develop seasonal content strategy, create / source assets, and implement via social platforms.
  • Drive relevant conversion traffic to Mosko’s social shops and web stores from social.
  • Stay current with social best practices, latest features, relevant trends, and share updates with team.

 

Required Skills

  • Ability to create original short-form content for organic posts and paid ads with video, photography, and text in English.
  • Ability to create content in the field and in-studio using a range of camera and audio equipment such as iPhone, DLSR, drone, and first-person POV to create compelling posts.
  • Skilled in creative and efficient editing of primarily vertical videos natively and in editing apps (e.g. Lumafusion, Filmora.)
  • Able to work with graphics, text layouts, and subtitles in social posts.
  • Ability to communicate creatively in English in written and verbal forms in a professional manner.
  • Track, analyze, and report on progress against goals and highlight standout content.
  • Up for riding motorcycles off-road and camping in remote locations.
