Manu Schütz Sets World Record for the Fast Catch Boomerang event at 14.07!

A 21 year old record for "Fast Catch Boomerangs" was smashed by World Champion Boomerang thrower Manuel Schütz of Switzerland on September 16, 2017 in Besancon, France with a score of 5 catches in 14.07 seconds. Originally set by 16 year old Adam Ruhf of the USA, the record withstood all challengers for 21 years and has been considered one of the great achievements of the sport. Manuel Schütz is known universally in the sport by the nickname "Manu", following in the tradition of great sports legends like "Pele" and "MJ". He is a multiple winner of the world boomerang championships and a world record holder in 4 different events *....including "Trick Catch Doubling" with a over 5 consecutive perfect scores, Boomerang Endurance throwing with 81 throws and catches within 5 minutes, and a record which has not even remotely been challenged with a long distance throw of 238 Meters with a full return.

In a sport known for it's cerebral aspects, Mr. Shutz is a Swiss math and physics teacher as well as a great ambassador for the sport. Minute adjustments are often made during tournaments to make throws precisely and wind conditions can often vary wildly. In addition Manu is a terrific athlete combining the endurance needed for the week long competition as well as the athleticism and arm strength needed for top performance.

The sport of Boomerangs is governed by the International Federation of Boomerang Associations and this Fast Catch world record is now confirmed officially by the international body. Mr. Adam Ruhf still retains the United States record. Mr. Ruhf's USA record time is currently 14.6 seconds.
