  • For outdoor use only!
  • Local jurisdiction fire and burn restrictions may apply. Always be aware of local use prohibitions.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED. The fuel contains petroleum hydrocarbons which are highly combustible. Read Warning labels provided by torch fuel manufacturers carefully.
  • COMBUSTIBLE Maintain a minimum 6-foot clearance from other combustibles.
  • DO NOT leave a burning torch unattended.
  • DO NOT move while burning.
  • ALLOW the torch to cool for at least 30 minutes before handling, performing a refill, or cleaning the torch.
  • DO NOT knock or move the torch fiercely as this can cause spillage, leading to a fire hazard and causing serious injury to yourself and others.
  • Failure to follow Warnings and Instructions may result in serious injury or property damage.
  • DO NOT use any other combustible fuel such as gasoline. Use only HALOFIRE® Brand Torch Fuels.

    GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

Halofire Torches have become very popular and are widely used all year round for seasonal activities.  They are used as decorative items and portable lighting. They also improve the ambiance of grand events and celebrations.

We would like to encourage you to treat our Halofire torches the same way you would treat any open flames. Think of a Halofire torch as a large candle. Like all open flames, there is always an element of risk. This is why you should never leave Halofire torches unattended.

As children are naturally fascinated and inclined to be near open flames, please invest some of your time to discuss the risks dan the potential dangers when it comes to Halofire torches. Children should never be playing with any kind of open flames as they need to be informed that Halofire torches are tools for adults.

Established a safety zone of 6-feet around the Halofire torches for your kids, just like you would a fireplace, campfire, wood stove, or while cooking in the kitchen.

Don’t forget about your pets.  If you have a pet that has not been around Halofire torches or an open flame use caution.  Set the Halofire touches out unlit before the event so your pet can get used to them and so you can see how your pet will react to them.  If Fido thinks a Halofire torch is a big stick to play with you do not want to find that out when he is running around the yard with a lit torch in his mouth spreading flames from fuel spilling out of the torch and freaking out your guests.  Cats can get to almost anywhere and their fur, especially their tales can catch fire very quickly.  Always watch your pets around any open flames.

Purchase an ABC extinguisher and make sure it is mounted in a safe place that is accessible and in close proximity to Halofire torches. You will need to perform regular checks to ensure that the ABC extinguisher is charged and fully operational at all times in case of a fire hazard.

Use caution and try to avoid using water to put out a Halofire torch on fire.  Water can spread Halofire torch oil without extinguishing the flame and compound an already bad situation.

    DISTANCE FROM COMBUSTIBLES/FLAMMABLES

The torch should be kept away from tree limbs or other flammables, preferably within 6 feet of your Halofire torches. If you find any low branches around, please trim them if you are unable to relocate the Halofire torch. It is also important that you keep the wick of the torch short to minimize the risk of fire hazards.

Wind blows or gusts can move or bend the flame, causing the flame to ignite any flammables around the torch. Alternatively, the wind can blow objects to the torch and cause burning as well. Hence it is imperative that you keep the Halofire torch to be away from any flammables at least 6 feet away.

Consider the height and location of the torches in proximity to guests.  Halofire torches, not unlike a standing house lamp, can be toppled.  Regardless of the height or location of your Halofire torches, you should take care when placing them by putting them in an area away from places where your guests may accidentally walk, stand or gather too close to a lighted torch.  Remember if the Halofire torch fuel spills the vapor from the fuel will spread the flames rapidly.

Keep Halofire torches at a minimum 6-foot distance from each other.

IN CASE OF FIRE - BE PREPARED

Have an ABC chemical fire extinguisher readily available when using Halofire torches.  Keep the fire extinguisher in close proximity to the area you are using the Halofire torch(s).  Mount the fire extinguisher to keep it secure and to prevent it from being knocked over or picked up and moved.  Make sure your fire extinguisher is charged and operational. Use caution and avoid using water to put out a Halofire torch on fire. Water can spread Halofire torch oil without extinguishing the flame and compound an already bad situation.

Make sure that you have a contingency plan in the event of a fire caused by the spillage of the torch. Call 911 immediately and assign an individual to ensure the safety of your guests.

    PLANTING OF THE TORCHES

Torches should be secured and adequately placed so the winds cannot tip them over.  They should not be easily knocked over. If you are using Halofire torch stands, make sure there are weighed down or secured to the ground.  Consider wind direction and speed.

    TORCH FUEL

Keep the torch fuel supply safely stored. Torch oil should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location and a distance away from open flames or heat sources.

The fuel used in Halofire torches is flammable. Clean up spills promptly.

In case fuel spills over the rim of the reservoir cannister, wipe excess and allow ample time for fuel to evaporate before lighting any torch.

Read the torch fuel warning and use instruction labels carefully so you know what to do in the event that you come in contact with the oil.

Never move a lit Halofire torch. Always extinguish the torch and give it at least 30 minutes to cool before moving.

Only use fuel made or approved for Halofire torches. Remove the reservoir cannister and fill it separately from the torch.  The reservoir in most traditional torches is a removable can. You can reduce the risk of an accidental pulling out of the can by performing the refilling of the reservoir on a stable and flat surface, away from any flammables before reinserting the reservoir back into the torch.

Do not overfill your Halofire torch reservoir. Fill to top-level line only. Do not top it off to the rim. Once the submerged end of your wick is in the oil, it will wick what's needed to the external end. A completely full reservoir won't lead to a larger flame or decrease the frequency of filling the reservoir, it does increase the likelihood of spills and sloshing should the torch get bumped.

A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) can be obtained from Halofire, free of charge, for any Halofire branded fuel product.  To make a request, please use the contact information shown below.

    EXTINGUISHMENT

Extinguish the Halofire torch(s) when you are done using. Our torches are equipped with a “snuffer” device.  Once the flame has been extinguished, monitor it for a few additional minutes to ensure the flame does not reignite.

Never attempt to ‘blow out” a torch.

Allow Halofire torch(s) to cool down for at least 30 minutes before moving them.

    STORAGE

Keep Halofire torch oil in a dry, well-ventilated, cool place that is far away from any form of heat, sparks, and open flames.

Always store torches in a secure upright position.  Torches containing fuel, or fuel residue must also be stored in a well-ventilated location a good distance away from heat, sparks, and open flames.
