Pekpi Wash Guide

We want to take the guesswork out of washing your cloth nappies. Making the switch is easy, just follow our basic wash guide below.

STEP 1. Dry-pail

Knock solids off into the toilet, rinse inserts and store both in a dedicated wash basket with airflow, also known as a dry-pail.

STEP 2. Pre-wash

Every two days warm wash covers and inserts on your machines shortest cycle with a half serve of eco-friendly detergent.

STEP 3. Main wash

Follow by a warm wash on the longest cycle your machine will allow with a full serve of eco-friendly detergent.

STEP 4. Dry

Air-dry covers and inserts or tumble dry ensuring covers are on a low temperature and Inserts on a medium temperature.

Important - When washing please do not exceed 60°C as this can damage the waterproofing on your covers.

Our Cloth Nappy Fit Guide

1. Snap in or pocket
Click-in your inserts either onto the top of the nappy or inside the pocket depending on your preference. Insert 1 is an Anchor Insert designed to be used on its own folded under at the end for extra absobency. Pair Anchor Insert 1 with the Hourglass insert 2 for maximum day time absorbency. For night time or for heavy wetters also add our 3 layer Tri-fold Insert giving 9 more absorbent layers.

Lay baby on the open nappy with the back of the nappy sitting above the hips, bring the wings from the back over to meet the waist snaps.
Try fitting the top row of snaps a little tighter around the tummy and the second row of snaps a little looser if baby has larger thighs or a looser fit for a bigger belly and tighter on the second row of snaps for thinner thighs.
If you feel material is “sagging” or “gaping” in the crotch try using the rise snaps to shorten the nappy for a trimmer fit.

3. Check it
Ensure baby is comfortable by checking the tummy fit and maintain a two finger gap so baby is still comfortable when sitting. Arrange the gussets/elastics into babys natural undie crease. You may notice a little gaping around the tummy area at times when baby is not sitting and their tummy is flat, this is considered normal and gives baby room to bend.
