This page details everything to our knowledge affecting the store's regular fulfilment abilities during the period of disruption from COVID19.
Summary TL;DR
In summary our guidance for international shipments from our US warehouse and shipping to the rest of the world, based on our experience and data:
- Expect 15-60 days delay extra on DHL Paket and DHL Parcel
- Expect 7-30 days delay to USPS priority
- Expect 7-15 days delay to DHL Direct
- Expect 7-15 days delay to USPS Express
- Expect 1-5 days delay to DHL Express
Current status
- The lack of passenger aircraft is severely impacting the ability of all carriers to deliver.
- All non express services from DHL eCommerce (DHL Parcel, DHL Paket, DHL Direct) and USPS are severely affected, depending on the country
- DHL Express (a totally different company to DHL eCommerce) appears to be relatively unaffected
- FedEx shipments from Italy are relatively unaffected
- No carriers are not accepting "lost package" claims, because they are claiming their packages are just delayed and still "in transit"
- All our carriers worldwide are invoking "force majuere" clauses in regards to service times.
- In plain English, this effectively means packages are considered "in transit" and not lost, until further notice.
- A "lost package" claim cannot be started on a package that is still considered by the carrier to be "in transit", so at present no claims can be made
- Many carriers are now performing "air to sea" diversions
- If your package is diverted this means your package that should arrive in a few days, might take 1-2 months with no tracking information during that time. You will not be notified of the diversion. It will just look like your package has got stuck at a US port.
- Some DHL eCommerce and USPS packages are being delivered on schedule or a few days late, but some are going missing for 60+ days
- We have several customers whose packages are still in transit after 60+ days
- We also have many customers whose packages are now turning up after 50-60 days
- We are currently performing detailed analysis of all "in transit" packages as best as we can to give customers realistic feedback
- Suspensions
- Some country pairs, for some services, have been suspended due to foreign postal operator suspension or unavailability of transportation
What we are doing
Service updates are being issued and changed every day by each carrier.
- We are reviewing the information as it becomes available
- We have enacted blocks on country-services where we have been advised delivery is impossible
- For all other countries, service guarantees are not able to be met - purchase and choose your shipping method at your own risk
- We have faith that more than the normal amount of packages are not being lost, but it may take months for things to go back to normal
- We are studying all in transit shipments, and looking for patterns we can use to better advise customers
- We hope to publish more detailed statistics in the next week or so, for the amusement of other data-nerds like us
What you should expect
- Expect at least a 2 week additional delay compared to normal
- Don't be surprised if your non-express shipment takes an additional 60 days
- If you absolutely need your shipment to not experience a delay, we only recommend DHL Express

The following countries are suspended due to the suspension of foreign postal operators:
Cuba, Guinea-Bissau, Kuwait, Libya, Mayotte, Sao Tome and Principe, Somaliland, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia (except Hufof and Makkah)
Most countries are advised that there is a universal temporary service adjustment, with additional transit time between 1 to 10 business days
UPS
